A two-week long AICTE Sponsored Faculty Development Programme on
“Emerging Trends & Research Aspects in 3G Networks & Wireless
Communications” organized by Department of IT at I.T.S, Mohan Nagar,
Ghaziabad was concluded on 11th June, 2013. During the valedictory
session, Dr. A.K. Puri - Director General, I.T.S Ghaziabad and Dr.
Harish Kumar - Director (IT) awarded with the certificates of successful
completion of the certificate. On this occasion, Dr. Puri, in his
address, expressed his satisfaction and happiness on the successful
completion of this programme. Dr Puri said that demand and expectations
of various applications and tools in varying nature of domains are
posing bigger challenge before academic fraternity and this FDP will
must have provided ample inputs to respond these expectations and
challenges.
Addressing to participants in valedictory session, Director-IT, Dr.
Harish Kumar said that this programs must have provided opportunity to
the participants to interact, discuss and deliberate with the experts
from specific domain and helped them in horning their technical and
conceptual skills to lay down the futuristic path for researches &
advancements. Coordintors of this FDP Prof. K.P. Singh and Prof. Rajeev
Kumar were also present during the ceremony.
This is to mention that this programme was inaugurated on 29th May,
2013 at the institute by Shri. Mahesh Kumar Seth - Sr. General Manager,
A.L.T, Ghaziabad who was invited as the Chief Guest during inaugural
se4ssion of this event. During two weeks about 48 sessions on different
dimensions of wireless and 3G technology were planned and conducted by
the experts drawn from academia, industry and research organizations.
Various experts from academia who addressed the participants and
conducted various sessions included Dr. Karmeshu from JNU Delhi, Dr.
B.V.R. Reddy from GGSIP University, Delhi, Dr. A.N. Gaikwad from BNCE
Pusad, Maharashtra, Mr. V.K. Solanki from Anna University, Dr. P.
Sateesh Kumar, IIT Roorkee, Dr. Vinay Rishiwal from MJP Rohailkhand
University, Barielly, Dr. D.J. Gupta from MMU, Mulana. They addressed on
various dimensions of the theme and provided substantial input for
future applications and ongoing researches taking place in the field of
wireless communication and technology with research directions.
The event was well supported by ALT Centre Ghaziabad. Mr. Ashish Tayal,
DGM (Mobile C), Mr. Sanjay Giri, SDE (GSM), Mr. Sanjay K. Gupta, SDE,
Mr. Vikas Nigam, Mr. Abhay Gupta and Mr. Prakash Pancholi from ALT
Centre Ghaziabad touched upon various wireless applications and
infrastructure related issues in detail. In these sessions experts from
ALT centre explained the process of setting up wireless set up and
enabling the communication among the users within its periphery. In
addition to this a visit to Wireless labs of ALT Centre was also
conducted where participants experience the wireless applications and
infrastructure in real environment.
Apart from above some of the sessions were also conducted by industry
experts where practical applications and related issues were discussed.
Mr. Kaushal Kumar from 197 communications presented a live session for
developing wireless and mobile applications.
During these sessions various areas and topics including IPV4 &
IPV6, 2G, 2.5G, 3G and 4G of wireless communications technologies,
applications and research issues in the area of Wireless Communications
including infrastructure, applications, Wireless (restricted networks),
Mobile Networks, Adhoc Networks, Next Generation Networks etc were
discussed in detail. In addition equal emphasis was given to the
practical implementation aspects and approach for developing wireless
applications with hands on through NS2 etc. were also included in the
programme.
50 Participants from far off places across the country including
Tamilnadu, Uttrakhand, Haryana, Delhi, U.P., Himanchal Pradesh etc
attended this faculty development programme. Towards the end of the
valedictory session participants shared their experience and learning
from this programme. They appreciated the arrangements and quality of
inputs and contents provided to them by the institute.
